This was only my second wedding as a celebrant and there were more than 100 guests!

I married these two on the banks of the Tweed River in Tumbulgum, NSW in January 2021.

I married Kasey and Connah here in northern NSW in 2022 in a tiny ceremony in their paddock, before they headed off to do something really special in the Scottish Highlands!

Their friend Caitlin Joyce Photography was there to take the photos. Talk about magical!

MY FIRST WEDDING!

“For our wedding we didn’t want a big fancy affair – after all, it was the second go for both of us, and really, we just wanted an opportunity to get our two families and a few friends together in a relaxed no hassle atmosphere.

After a few initial emails and an online zoom meeting (because of COVID-19) we finally managed to meet with Jen. We immediately felt very comfortable in her company and chatted about our ideas and plans for our wedding. It all seemed so informal and everything seemed possible. It was still a few months out, and we thought we had plenty of time – but very quickly Jen came back with an outline for the ceremony and an outline of what we had to prepare. We couldn’t believe how well Jen had managed to pick up the vibe we wanted in the ceremony – relaxed, fun, a little bit quirky, and most importantly inclusive of all who had been invited – it was all there! She had nailed it! The rest was so easy – Jen took control of our guests, the grandchildren tossed a carpet of rose petals for our entry, the ceremony went without a hitch and we laughed, cried and were filled with joy. Jen’s words and effort to really understand us made our wedding a very special occasion, one all our guests commented was “the best wedding they had been to”. Thank you Jen – your efforts and skill are truly commendable.”

Janessa wore her mum’s wedding dress but very sadly, a year later, she asked me to conduct her mother’s funeral, which I was honoured to do.

I have known these two all my life & in fact, their wedding 40 years ago was the first one I’d ever attended. So, this was an absolutely awesome morning!

Again, I was able to do ‘the legals’ for Emily, a friend of the couple who was conducting the wedding but had not yet received her registration. It was super wonderful to be part of it!
